The famous and multiple award winning artiste, Mr Odunlade Adekola was on 27th June, 2022 officially appointed as the brand ambassador of the Ogun State Informal Sector Health Insurance Scheme. This event which was spear-headed by the Honorable Commissioner for Health, Dr Tomi Coker, took place at Ogun State Health Insurance Agency office complex in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
In his welcome address, the Executive Secretary of OGSHIA, Dr Afolabi Dosunmu expressed his hope and positive expectation consequent upon this initiative, as to the increase in the level awareness of the state’s health insurance scheme among residents of Ogun State. In her remark, the Honorable Commissioner for Health in Ogun State, Dr Tomi Coker, reiterated the importance and the future of health insurance in Nigeria at large, especially as it is being stipulated in the new National Health Insurance Authority Act (NHIA Act). She highlighted the need to scale up awareness creation which is aimed at further increasing the level of acceptance of health insurance by residents of the State. Mr Odunlade while accepting the offer, thrilled the audience with one of his popular songs. He thereafter thanked the Executive Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR for granting him the opportunity to partner with the state through OGSHIA. He expressed his readiness to work hand-in-hand with the agency in achieving the set tasks and objectives. (Watch full video here).
To wrap up the occasion, a memorandum of understanding was signed by both parties, Dr Tomi Coker thereafter presented OGSHIA health insurance card to Mr Odunlade Adekola, while imploring him to enjoy the full benefits of the health insurance scheme. (Watch video here).
