A NEW CHAPTER FOR LOCAL GOVERNMENT WORKERS’ HEALTH COVERAGE IN OGUN STATE
Yesterday, the Ogun State Health Insurance Agency (OGSHIA) and the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) took a significant step towards strengthening access to quality and affordable healthcare for Local Government workers across Ogun State.
The two institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Office of the Head of Service, formally signalling the commencement of the Formal Sector Health Insurance Scheme for Local Government workers.
The signing was witnessed by the Head of Service, Mr. Iskeel Sake, alongside Permanent Secretaries and senior government officials, including:
* Mr. Ogunfowora – Permanent Secretary, Service Matters
* Dr. Olayinka Elemide – Permanent Secretary, Hospitals Management Board
* Mrs. Lydia Fajounbo – Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture
* Dr. Moshood Oladehinde – Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health
* Dr. Afolabi Dosunmu – Executive Secretary, OGSHIA
* Dr. Sarat Adebayo – Director, Health Insurance, OGSHIA
* Comrade Adefesobi Adebayo – Chairman, NULGE
* Members of the NULGE delegation and other stakeholders
This milestone reinforces the commitment of the Ogun State Government to Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and ensures that healthcare protection extends to the men and women who keep our Local Government system running.
